Went to Babys Something Or Other on 90th and Shea trying to pick up a present for my friend's kid. Thought maybe I could start a book collection. I saw the Hungry Little Caterpillar and thought, "Wow, a classic - must have!" Until I saw that this tiny book cost $11!!!!! What the heck? Most of my books don't cost that much!

Re: OMFG - Baby Book Prices
Try thrift stores! There is one near us that has a HUGE selection and they are in great condition
For this reason, I am so happy I kept all my childhood books. We already have a huge box full to start Bugger's library.
This! I have a HUGE rubbermade container filled with books
Changing Hands is also a really good used book store. I dont know what part of town you are in, but it is in Tempe - Guadalupe & McClintock, I think.
Lunch at Sauce for 2 can easily cost you +$20, movie tickets can also cost about $15, and a Michael Connelly paperback costs about $7.00, so an $11 book for your child that will last a lot longer than a pizza or a movie sounds alright. Hunting garage sales and consignments is time consuming. If you've got the patients and the time for all that, more power to you. Even though one could argue you will spend more money in fuel driving around to these places then you would if you just bought Hungry Little Caterpillar. Other places to check would be Walmart, Target, or Amazon.
