St Lucia?

Who has been to St Lucia? Christian and I are thinking of going there in February. We're thinking Sandals but then we are also thinking a non-resorty place would be better. Would love to hear any suggestions on where to stay, things to do, etc. Thanks ladies!

Re: St Lucia?

  • I already gave you my St. Lucia run down from Sandals Regency La Toc.  St. Lucia is our favorite of all the islands be because it's so beautiful!  There isn't as much to do there outside the resorts as Jamaica though.  I would love to stay at this resort, but it's pricey:

  • Marelina and Amanda were both married at St.Lucia.
  • I HATE YOU!!!  Wink

I mean YAY!!!!!  We LOVED staying at the Grande St. Lucian!!!  The food was amazing, the staff was wonderful, and I cried when I had to leave!!!  We took one day and did the whole island tour with Simon Says.  (I can give you his e-mail)  The best part about the tour was he took us to his home for lunch and we got to meet his family and his wife made an amazing lunch for us!  We hit everything in one day.  It was a 14 hour tour!  So worth it!  Plus if was like $100 a person.

We did not go since it was our wedding night, but you HAVE to do the street fair.  It is every Friday night and all teh locals go there.  There are food trucks, everyone is drinking and dancing in the street.  All our friends had a blast!

Let me know if you want more info.  SO JEALOUS!

Ok, so maybe this was why DH & I weren't crazy about St. Lucia on our cruise.

Don't get me wrong, it was beautiful & we are definitely glad we got to visit, but we are not sure if we'd ever go back for a week stay. I can't quite put my finger on it as to why...but we enjoyed all of the other islands more than St. Lucia (I'm kinda shocked b/c we were really excited about visiting St. Lucia-everyone has always said such great things).

We did Cosol tours-a GREAT way to see the island (I think). There was a lot of damage from hurricane Tomas though. & some of the "fishing villages"...OMG. These people live in shacks! It's kinda sad.

The Pitons & Jalousie beach were gorgeous! Don't know if I would want to stay at that resort (the one right on Jalousie beach, can't remember the name) for a week though...you'd be better off doing Cosol's tour to take a day trip there.

I'm sure if we were staying at one of the Sandals on the island, we might have a different outlook. Maybe someday we'll give it another shot, but for now we are determined to go back to Barbados! Big Smile

  • Awesome, thank you for the info ladies!
