Hi! I'm from Philly and DH just got a job in Miami so we'll be moving soon. Can you give me some areas in and around Miami that are family oriented neighborhoods? Also, good school districts. Thanks!
Re: Relocating to Miami
Miami is HUGE. Do you have a more specific area for where he will be working?
If he will be working more north, look into Weston. We have several friends that live there and it is a really nice area.
Sorry I am not much help. I live in Broward.
He's my fairytale, a dream when I'm not sleeping.

I relocated to Miami a year ago from Washington, DC.
I live in Miami Beach but if I were you I would move to Coral Gables, near the University. It's a beautiful area and it's safe. I have friends who live there and love it. Traffic in Miami is tough so I would not consider living far from work unless you want to be on the road more than an hour each way.
Good luck,
Erika
Hi Erika,
I live in Pembroke Pines at the moment but I used to live in Kendall which is in Miami. There are very nice areas in Kendall, such as the areas on sunset drive, close to the palmetto. Kendall Lakes has nice homes too. South Kendall by The Falls MAll has great homes. These are large homes and there are very good schools around.
Nice neighborhood areas with good schools in Miami:
1. Coral Gables: Very expensive but in my opinion, the best family oriented area to live with EXCELLENT schools.
2. Areas of South Miami (this area is close to Coral Gables but you don't pay the CG taxes)
3. Pinecrest (similar to CG but more south; Ransom private school is here)
4. Doral (very small exclusive area; once you are out of it though, it is very industrial; close to the important expressways)
5. Coconut Grove: Very beutiful old homes, many have been refurbished. Mostly condos. Once again, very small exclusive area but once you are out of it you run into some not-very-nice areas.
6. South Beach: I work here. Homes here are extremely expensive and few are up for sale. The beach is full of condos and many are family-friendly, particularly the ones on West Avenue and the higher streets of Collins.
7. Mid-town: This is an up and coming area. The homes in this area are older but the nicer places are made up of condos and really nice townhomes.
Of course, this all depends on where you will work. I hope I helped.
Angie
