CDs leaking -- ((CD theme lately, eh?))

So the BGs are doing great at night, I have the AFFF hemp liners plus the regular BG insert and all the snaps open for the bulk.  No issues there. 

My big issue now is leaking during the day, especially during morning nap (usually about 1.5-2 hours at daycare (45 mins at home)).  I sent him today with BGs stuffed with newborn insert and regular insert which seemed HUGE.  He's just over 8 months now.  Did most of you find the need to add more stuffing to the BGs as they got older?  Or maybe I need to strip, but he is just soaking through the MF insert.  Any tips for what's working for you would be greatly appreciated!

Also, I now have the medium setting on the covers and the inserts all the way open.  I've experimented with snapping the inserts and this seems to work ok.  I never really know when to change the size of the diapers though!

At that point he had the newborn and regular inserts both at night and day and didn't have leaks.  I always snapped my insert to match the size of the diaper, but I'm not sure if that would make a difference leak-wise, but maybe they're not fitting right in the pocket?  If they're working at night, I'd be hesitant to say you needed to strip them.

If I remember correctly at 8 months Luke was in the largest size the diapers could be. I think this is what helped prevent leaking. I was only using the larger insert. But, since about 11 months during the day we use both now. Large and newborn.

No matter what I did at night starting 11 months, night leaking happened and we gave up around 12 months and do disposable overnighters now. But, its awesome cause Luke actually sleeps 11-13 hours a night!!! ::knock on wood::: most nights.

We use both inserts during the day and add a hemp doubler folded in half. No leaks. Somwtimesa leak if I wait to long to change her but we are usually good. I know it's a lot of fluff but we are used to it.

I meant to say we add the hemp only at night and naptime. We use the middle setting on tter cover and the large insert snapped to the one on the end, not the snap that makes it super small.

ok cool -- maybe I'll go back to snapping the insert to the middle setting and then add the doubler during the day.  I just wasn't sure if the inserts were supposed to be used together since it was so big!

What about using hemp or bamboo inserts, then use just the newborn on top for quick absorption? You could get some fabric from kidsinthegaren.com and make some or order hemp babies bigger/little weeds.
