Runners check in!

Ok ladies... I think that come 2011 I'm going to stop posting this. If anyone wants to take it up, please feel free! I'll still be running and working out though.

So.. there are about 3 weeks left of the year. Its time to wrap up those 2010 goals and start thinking about new ones. I'll save those questions for next week.. but start thinking about them.

1) How did last week go?

2) Plans for this week?

3)  Does anyone else find Dec the hardest month to keep up their running?

Re: Runners check in!

  • 1) I did not run last week.

    2) Ok, I absolutely am running this week. I plan to run 3 tonight, 3 thursday, 4 saturday, 6 on Sunday.

    3) I am just so busy and the days feel so short! I need to make more of an effort to put other things on the back burner and focus on my fitness.

  • 1) How did last week go?  It went really well.  I finally got a long run in (6 miles!).  My knee is still hurting, I think running with tight hamstrings from Dailey Method class caused that.  :(2) Plans for this week?  3 runs this week, 4/4 and maybe 5.  3)  Does anyone else find Dec the hardest month to keep up their running?  Yes and no.  I usually count up my miles and Dec I'm either trying to make my goal or I set a new goal.  For example, my goal was to run 500 miles this year, but come Dec I was at 546 miles so I made it a new goal to run 600 miles so I'm squeezing in runs to get there.
  • Where are all my runners?

    I'll take it up, if you'd like :)  (when/if I can remember)

    1) How did last week go? Great!  I did two "races" last week...the CIM Relay on Sunday, and my first 10K race on Saturday.  I did two lunch time 4 milers on T/Th too.

    2) Plans for this week? Lunchtime 4's on M/W/F, and I'm hoping to do a 6 on Sunday...we'll be in Tahoe, and it's supposed to be snowing, so I just might be getting my first snow run in!  If I chicken out, I'll try to do 8 when I get home (I'm hoping the knowledge that it's "only" 6 in the snow, or 8 at home will motivate me to go for the Tahoe, i.e. more interesting and pretty even if it's in the snow, run).

    3)  Does anyone else find Dec the hardest month to keep up their running? This is the first December that I've been running, and it's been a little hard mostly because I'm not training for anything right now, so I almost don't know what to do with myself (since I started running, I've always had a "plan/program"...I'm just trying to keep up with 4 milers a few times a week, and 6-8 on the weekends.  Right now, I'm trying to focus on realizing that 1) I won't be running in Europe at all for 11 days off, and 2) 10 days after we return from Europe, I start Shamrock'n half training...I'd like to be able to train with their advanced group this time around, and hope to go sub-2 for Shamrock'n...soooo, with those things in mind, I have been pretty motivated to keep running this month for as long/much as I can.  I would say I'm doing okay with it.  I am nervous, and also sort of looking forward to the break though...

Sorry it took me a bit to respond :)  Thanks for posting, T!!
