Since you're from Hamilton, I was wondering, what do you know about Race Around the Bay 30K Road Race?

http://www.aroundthebayroadrace.com/index.htm

Do you know anyone who has done it?  Would that course be fun, cool etc?  Would you come out to spectate if I ran it? Stick out tongue

Since I know I can run a half marathon but I'm a little leary of running a full, this seems like it might be a happy medium.

  • Yay Hamilton!

Around the Bay seems to be pretty popular and yes, I would totally come and spectate!

I'm sure some of my corworkers have run it in the past, but I can't say who has for sure.  I think I've heard good things about how it's run though.  I mean, it is the oldest road race in North America afterall.

It would probably be super neat to run, but potentially chilly, since your on the water for most of it.  But you'd get to run over the lift bridge (which is totally cool) and right by where I got married.

Yup, you should do it.  Totally.  Maybe H and I will do the 5k.

We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?

  • This is sounding exciting!

Honestly, I think it's the chilliness factor that is was worries me the most about a run that early in the season.  That and the fact that I'm beginning to wonder about these nagging hip/groin/knee pains I've been having and since my family doctor is hit or miss (she didn't even check range of motion, just said 'it's overuse' and didn't tell me where to go from there) I don't even know where to go from here.

I did 5 miles on the treadmill today with some groin pain.  We'll see how I feel tomorrow =(
