40th Birthday Party

Hi all,

One of my best friends is celebrating her 40th birthday in February and her family is flying in from all over the country. They have asked me to plan ... and I'm not really good at this sort of thing, so need your help.

She wants to do something with everyone's kids (they range in age from 0-8) and then something with just the adults. We like to drink, but are past the age of clubbing/getting totally wasted. I'm thinking we could start the night at someone's house and then head out for a night on the town?

Any ideas? I also posted on my local board ...

Thanks!

Re: 40th Birthday Party

  • If people are coming in from out of town, it might be fun to do something other than hang at someone's house with the kids.  Is there an indoor waterpark everyone could meet at?  We have a hotel in my town with a waterpark AND a bar.  The families could play at the waterpark, then the kids could go back to the rooms (know any babysitters?) while the adults came down to the bar.  :)

Or maybe there is a fun restuarant nearby for a big group dinner (everyone pays for themselves).  Rainforest Cafe or a Hibatchi Japanese place or something?  Then the kiddos (and the parent who loses the coin toss) can go home to go to sleep while the adults head out to a piano bar or hockey game.
