Eek! No seating around the tree!

My Hubby and i live in a loft in Downtown and its more empty than anything. Im taking my time with decor but Christmas is coming up and we have no seating around the tree to open gifts! I have no idea what to do. I dont have much money for furniture so i need a quick solution. We have concrete floors to so something soft to sit on, i dunno... help! Any ideas?

Is it just for you two? Can you just move some furniture you already have for a short time? and then move it back?

If that's not possible, Target had a bunch of cheap folding chairs on clearance a while back... I don't know.

  • Try a local rental depot, google should give some good results.

We rented some folding chairs for Thanksgiving for $2.00 a piece. And then you can give them back rather than worry about what to do with folding chairs.

  • The rental idea sounds good if you're having a lot of people over...but it sounds like you might just be talking about just the two of you?  My first thought was floor pillows - but you could always just use blankets or something.  If you have a little money to spend, a couple of those storage foot stools that they have at Target would be cute...and reusable.

  • DH and I usually use big floor pillows, but it's just the two of us.

  • Time to go off to homegoods, target, walmart (I can't believe I just typed that....) get lots of throw pillows and inexpensive throw blankets. I would find a simple color story, something that goes with your tree, and pile them on the floor. We always open our presents on the floor, around the tree.

  • Festive googy sleeping bags.... or reasonable area rug?..

I live in a loft in NJ, our floors sound like yours, we put in flooring recently, and have brick walls, and wooden beams etc. it is really tough decorating a loft, we purchased an area rug, at Marshalls. That helped to make it more cozy. It is tough because we wanted to make the place more cozy without taken away from the beauty of the urban feeling of the loft. There is a magazine called "LOFT" I am not sure if it is "LOFT decorationg" or just "LOFT", it gave me some ideas when we bought our place. I love our loft!

  • Nothing says you can't move the presents to the living area and open them on the couch/chairs you already have.

  • I'd say floor pillows if it's just the two of you.
