Well it's snowing again

But this time our tree is up and I'm done about half of my shopping. All of the gifts are wrapped and the cards are going out today. I just bought DH his big gift - tickets to the Grand Prix race in Bmore. They just went on sale today. Feeling a little better. How are you guys doing with your Christmas to do lists?

Re: Well it's snowing again

  • Remaining to dos:

-buy sneakers, workout shorts and dress socks for DH

-come up with another approx $50 gift for DH & buy it

-come up with and buy gifts for my parents and DH's mom

    -wrap all gifts

-decide on a lite brunch menu for Christmas morning

ETA: the snow hasn't started here yet.  I'll place a bet that it will arrive at exactly 5:00, just when I have to drive from the train station to home!

  • I literally just finished the last of my Christmas shopping right now on Amazon. :) The last two things I needed were something for Ted's stocking, and a little something to add to my brothers gf's gift. Well, technically I'm not done yet. I still have to do the magazine subscription for my FIL. I'm just paranoid that somehow if I order it now he'll get an issue before Christmas & ruin the surprise. Realistically I'm sure it would be fine to order now, but I'm waiting anyways.

I just have to wrap all the presents still, but I seriously think I'm making H wrap them since I ordered & bought everything. Devil I hate wrapping.

     I hate wrapping.

There is no way that he will get an issue in the next week.

    I LOVE wrapping!

I think I hate wrapping because my mom is so good at it. She's amazing, her wrapping is always prefect (no crinkles or bulges or anything) and she makes the most amazing bows for them. ::sigh:: I just kinda slap some paper on them and call it a day, I learned a long time ago I didn't inherit her talent - my brother did. LOL.

  • I love wrapping! It's my favorite part. I am a bit of a lunatic about it though.

    Me, too!

Thanks to this post I just ran out in the snow and bought the sneakers, workout socks, shorts and a book about running as an impulse buy.  I'm now over our set limit and I still have one more small thing to buy.  I feel very accomplished now!  (And the snow started here around 2:15 PM.)

  • WTH! How come we don't have any snow?! This is the only time of year when I actually want snow!

I'm pretty much done with my shopping...I did the last of the wrapping last night.

But I am making cranberry pumpkin bread for people, which I still have to do (don't want to do it too early b/c then it'll be stale by the time I give it to them!)

DH still has to get a GC for his Dad though. He "said" he's picking it up today. We'll see!

As for wrapping....I have a love/hate relationship with it. Sometimes my wrapping is great, sometimes not so much. Like others have said, my mom is also a professional present wrapper. Her stuff is A-Mazing!! & I'm so jealous!

  • DH and I spent all.day.long. shopping... I started and finished everyone today.  I'm exhausted, but so glad to be over with.

As far as wrapping most the time I have the Habitat for Humanity in the mall wrap all my gifts for me.. or DH and I spend a night trying to wrap it all.... ::sigh:: I dread wrapping what we have left to wrap..

  • I didn't know they went on sale today.  We want to go to so hopefully we can get tickets soon.

We have to go out Saturday and pick up a few more things, mostly GC's. I already have everything wrapped that I have, I don't even care if it looks bad anymore. As long as its wrapped is the main thing.  Now I just need to bake.  Still need to get stuff for that though.

Woohoo!  My boss actually sent me "home" at 3pm because of the snow.  It definitely wasn't necessary but I took advantage of a couple of extra hours and am now almost done!  Need to pick up a couple of stocking stuffers for DH, add to my BFF's kids gifts, pick up 2 personalized ornaments for friends and get two gift cards.

I totally understand about the mom thing, I don't know how my mom does it but she wraps perfect presents.  I wrapped a bow around a bottle of rum I gave my dad last year and it was a a really good bow... I was so proud of myself because it rivaled my mom's bow tyeing.  Ok I know bow tying isn't an art, but it really is.

I have a couple more GC's to buy (that are at the grocery store thankfully) and the liquor store.  And DH hasn't committed on what to get is sister or is dad and his dad's wife.  Oh, and the baking... have I mentioned the baking...

Haha!  This is totally how I feel about wrapping these days!

Pretty much done with shopping except maybe pick up a few more stocking stuffers for DH.
