Hello everyone, I am in the process of Christmas shopping for my husband and am interested in these but know very little about coffee.
With these do I need a special coffee maker or can he just make a normal cup of coffee and pour one of these in? Advice would be greatly appreciated!
Re: K-Cup Coffee
They are for specific types of coffee machines only. We have a Keurig machine that uses these:
The K-cups go in a receptacle as shown:
They are great machines, we love ours!
Ditto, pp. They come in all different sizes. Ours has a water tank on the sides & makes 3 different cup sizes. I absolutely love it!
DH doesn't drink coffee & I make just enough to fill my travel mug, so these are perfect for me!
Really? I didn't know that, where do you get those filters from? That would be great!
Bed Bath and Beyond has them.
I have one, and it works great for day to day coffee making. Its quick and easy, and not a whole lot of clean up is needed. For big parties you'll wanna have a regular old pot around, because it would take a while to make 10 cups of coffee this way.
You put the k-cup in the machine, fill the back (or side depending on model) with a mug of water. Place mug on machine, and press on.
I usually use my own coffee with the Keurig My K Cup Filter. I got it at the supermarket in the same section as the other k-cups. It tastes just as good, and is a lot cheaper then buying the little cups.
I love these, but I just don't have the room for one right now. My parents and sister both have one and it's great. I would love it for day to day use (sure would save money in the long run... better than my daily trip to Starbucks.) They are also great for small dinner parties. You can put a few kinds of coffee, tea, hot chocolate in a basket and people can choose what they want.
Depending on the model you get or if it is a special package deal it may come with the reusable filter cup, my SIL has one (Her mom got it at Costco) and it came with hers.
I love these coffee makers! I am going to get one after Christmas if DH didn't already get it for me (I've been hinting LOL)
