Back online!

What a day. Got quite cold in my house today, but we've got our power and heat back now! The builder of this house did a number on the original electric panel, and had too small a box for the size of our house. It took us 5 years in this house, but we finally have the right size service panel now!

We managed to keep warm wearing layers, and had a mid-afternoon snuggle under blankets on the couch. Thank goodness we have a gas range so I was able to make lunch and heat some water for Kyle's cereal.

Electrician is coming back tomorrow to install one last something-or-other, and then properly label all the breakers. Oh yeah, it will be so nice to just have to look at the label and have that be the breaker we actually want, rather than the completely screwed up panel we'd been dealing with for 5 years! Yippee!

I probably won't be online too much tomorrow either. We'll be going breaker by breaker and turning the power off to figure out exactly what everything goes to. Exciting stuff.

Re: Back online!

  • That's awesome that you got your electrical upgraded, Alicia.  We have to fix our electrical box too.  It's still got fuses.  Which reminds me... I really should ping plammy to see if her DH can get us a quote on switching us to circuit breakers!

    Welcome back online!
