Amaretto*Sour Les Mis Check-in #2

Parts of this section seemed a little tougher for me, thus the late checkin. Hugo's diversions into politics are difficult for me to follow at times. At the same time, though, there are some really captivating pieces of this section. I love Jean Valjean's escapes from Javert and his rescue of Cosette. It seems like so much more is happening over these last 300 pages than in the first 300. What do think so far? I like how Hugo is sort of mysterious sometimes, lik how he will talk about Jean Valjean or the Thenardiers through some other character's eyes and allows the reader to connect the dots. I am still enjoying the book quite a lot and feel like there is so much there to digest. It is a book that I would love to take a semester long class and just study. There is a lot of meat to it, IMO. Next check in at page 1069 on 12/28. Again, I might be a little late. We will see if I can catch up to the schedule.
