Flat Screen LCD TV Questions?
We just received a 37" LG as a (very) nice gift. Our only other LCD flat screen is much much smaller. So, the picture is grainy and not crisp at all, which I am assuming is b/c we don't have HD cable?? Would an HDMI cable help do you think or are we stuck? It's not a fancy tv, but honestly the picture quality on our 8 year old Sharp was better -- eek! TIA for any help!
Re: Flat Screen LCD TV Questions?
Do you have analog or digital cable? Is the grainyness on all channels or just some.If you watch a dvd is it grainy? If it is not then it's probably a bad connection to your cable. If it is then you could try to play with the picture settings on the tv and see if that clears it up.
We just bought a 47in LCD (Vizio) a few weeks ago. We do not have HD and ours is very crisp and clear.

This is true as well...my grandmother bought a LCD TV last year and they did have to replace her cables running through her house because they were so old and the picture was fuzzy. That's a possibility as well.
You need an HD box and an HDMI cable.
Also throw the brand and model number into google and look for the right calibration settings for color and balance and all of that.
You could pay a lot of money for someone to do this for you, but in most cases they are already online and someone else did it for you, and it makes a LOT of difference.
It's amazing how many people take their tvs right out of the box and slap them up on the wall without changing any of the settings..
