Ok, so I have four women in their 70s and 80s, and I have no idea what to get them.
It's difficult, because I don't want to flare up anyone's diabetes, or give them a book that is too blurry to read, etc.
What do you give ladies who are really old and have almost every imaginable clothing or houseware item?
Re: Grandmothers
Framed family photo's or photo album's. My grandmother (age 68) LOVES western's, so western's on dvd. She loves gift cards to department stores, so she can hit the end of season sales. Mani/pedi gift certificate to her nail salon. She loves pajama's.
Find out things that they like and go from there.

What is your budget?
I hate to ask this, but.... are they in assisted living? If they are any bath and body lotion set would be good... they don't get things like that in nursing homes... like the ones from drug stores will be fine.... nothing too expensive.
Also... Christmas Floral arrangements are good... So they can throw them out at the end of the season.
You can put together a photo album of pictures of their family and friends.... like old pictures.... most older ladies like that

None of my sweet ladies are in assisted living, but I do like the idea of lotions and shower gels. They are consumable products that don't mess with dietary restrictions.
We send DH's grandma a gift certificate to a resaurant every year - she likes it and it makes going out more affordable.
For my grandparents: wine (from a local winery that I know they like), I will make fudge & candy for my grandpa (it makes him happy), and I will give my grandma bath stuff (as I doubt she will spend her own money on something frivolous).
