*sigh* so frustrated!!
I'm so frustrated. And before I say any more, let me make it clear that I am very grateful that people (family and friends) are generous and want to get nice things for Elise. We're lucky to have such great people in our lives. But man it's putting a cramp in our holiday plans!
Everything we planned on getting her from Santa, someone else gets her and calls to tell us. So that thing gets returned and we think of something new and get that. And same thing happens. And you can't tell people to return their gift and get her something else! So we're days before Christmas and I'm now clueless as to what to get her.
So far we've gone through a kitchen, his parents have now gotten that. I wanted to get her a swing set, DH wants to wait till her birthday when the weather will be nicer for her to play outside. So that's out. We got her a tent, then someone else got her a tent. I bought her a little kiddie laptop, just got a call that someone got her a laptop. My parents got her a dollhouse. WTF am I going to get her?
Like I said, I'm incredible grateful and touched that people want to get her nice things. But they're taking my ideas that she was getting from Santa and now I'm getting stressed

see I'm torn because I really want to give her the little laptop that I got her because it goes along with one of her other toys, and I know the one they got her does not. But they're older, no kids, and I know that they're looking forward to her opening it and watching her play with it, right then and there. And my mom said they were so excited that they got that for her. So I can't even just exchange it for something else afterwards, because they will want to see her playing with it. But i don't want to hurt their feelings.
I'll probably just exchange the one I got her for something else, and if the one they got her really sucks then I'll get this one for her for Valentine's Day or Easter or something. It wasn't very expensive.
alrighty, situation rectified. We went shopping this evening and got her some stuff she's gonna love, Dora backpack and camera and map, Disney Princess keyboard, play dough, some books, and we already had a bunch of little things for her.
I think she'll be really excited.
