They did a story on this this weekend on the Today Show. I heart Amelia, she was a total bada$$ lady!
My husband actually works with the guy who is heading this (but on preserving/conserving some WWII airplanes that are currrently in the ocean in the south pacific). It's funny - I saw the article in the paper and showed it to him. They have made several attempts to prove it's her with things they have found, but they have been unable to prove that anything belongs to her yet. DH thinks they should have waited until they have shown that it IS her and that the DNA matches before they release things to the media - but it's funny to me b/c the story is everywhere.
I thought the same thing! I believe stories like this have come out several times just in the last few years. I thought it was strange they didn't wait until they actually knew one way or the other, but obviously someone else thought otherwise.
