Cookies come in please!

I plan on making at least 3 varieties of cookies and fudge to pass out to PJ's grandparents along with their gifts. If I put the cookies/fudge in Christmas tins will they remain fresh until this weekend? Should I wrap them in foil or syran wrap? Or, am I better off freezing the cookies and defrosting them before handing them out?

TIA!

Re: Cookies come in please!

  • I'm no expert, but I wrap baked goods in saran wrap because in my experience it keeps them from being either too moist or too dry; foil doesn't work as well but I don't know why.  Maybe another cook on here knows?  And I don't think you have to freeze them if you're giving them out in just a few days.

  • If you are not planning on putting them in any type of plastic bag, I would keep them in an airtight container as long as you can, then, put tissue paper (I use the non-paper kind for edibles) put in the tins maybe Thursday or Friday to be safe.  Just for freshness purposes.

They will not got bad, but might harden.
