There aren't many pets still awaiting adoption at the Minnesota Valley Humane Society, which is awesome since they're closing in less than 2 weeks.
If you've been considering adopting a pet, you can check out their available dogs, cats, and bunnies. There are 5 dogs, 4 cats, and 2 bunnies still looking for homes.
They must be confident that all the remaining pets will be adopted soon, all the volunteers got an email notification today that says the last day they will need volunteers is Dec. 23. That means that my volunteer shift last weekend was my last. I'm sad because I really enjoyed my time there, but happy to know that so many pets found homes over the last several weeks since MVHS announced its closing.
Looks like I need to spend some time over the holiday break looking for a new place to volunteer ... I'll take suggestions if anyone has them. It doesn't necessarily have to be in animal rescue (we already submitted an application to foster dogs, so hopefully I'll get to continue working in animal rescue in a new capacity soon!).
Re: Update: MVHS closing
I know Homeward Bound uses volunteers to work their adoption events that usually happen at Petco stores in the area.
I'm glad to hear so many animals found homes!!
Pet Project Rescue always needs volunteers - to work their adoption events, help with fundraising, foster, etc...
I'm sad to hear about MVHS, but I'm happy to hear that there are not many animals left.
