Christmas or other, that your DH gave you (pre-marriage of course)? There was a thread on the Holiday's board where a woman was venting because she hated the gift her husband gave her. It almost brought her to tears.
A few years ago Richard gave me a snake print leather jacket for Christmas. It was hideous, not to mention that I despise snakes so it was not the best gift to give me. When I opened it I didn't know what to say. I told him that I liked it but I could not hide my true feelings. I just smiled and we opened the rest of our gifts. The following day I told him the truth, that I did not like the jacket. I thought he would be crushed, but he wasn't. He totally understood and said that we could go exchange it, so we did. I'm glad that we've always had that type of relationship where we can be brutally honest with each other and laugh about it later.
Re: Ever Hated a Gift...
2 years ago for my birthday, K gave me a Nintendo DS. His niece had gotten one for Christmas and I was just nutsing around with her and he got the impression that I would LOVE it! (Not really a big gamer, so not so much). I felt worse because I know what they cost and he was so proud of it.
The only time we get it out is when we travel, and he plays it more than I do.
This morning when hubby came home I asked him if he remembered the infamous jacket. We then laughed about it. He said he thought I would like it because I had a snake print purse, which I don't remember ever having. I guess he figured I wanted to be covered in snake print from head to toe.
omg, this cracked me up.
A couple xmases ago, Chris got me these killer black boots. All I had been talking about was black boots that year. They were great except they had the really pointy toe that was in vogue. He prides himself on being really good at picking out clothes and shoes for me too, so I bit me tongue and I try to wear them as often as I can stand it.
This year, he got me another set of black boots. They aren't bad, but I definitely wouldn't buy them. He was so excited he made me open them early as an early xmas gift. sigh
on a good note, I discovered that if I wear them with thigh highs and short sweater dresses, they look amazing.
