Snow, or no snow? That is the question...

OK - So I've taken to becoming an amateur weather sleuth these past couple of days. Depending on which forecast model you believe, one of the following will occur here in Central MD (indeed, the entire Mid-Atlantic region) over the Christmas holiday weekend...

a) Snow - and plenty of it! Some models are forecasting a nasty little dude hitting the Atlantic seaboard either Friday night into Saturday or Saturday night into Sunday, bringing with him enough blustery winds, record freezing temps and heavy snow accumulation to seriously cramp holiday travel plans in these parts....

b) Just a light dusting or flurries, no big deal.

c) Nothing at all...the system will just ease on out to sea and wave at us as it goes by.

I know that all we can ever do is just wait and see, but I just wish I knew which it's going to be! Because if it's "A", then that might actually make me happy, as we will most likely stay home and avoid the messy roads on Christmas. Unfortunately, H will be disappointed if that happens, but he can blame the weather, not his wifey! (wink, wink!)

If it's "B", then I'll be hitting the road, and all should be well. And if it's "C" then it will all turn out to be much ado about nothing! So which is it going to be??? The suspense is killing me Hmm

Re: Snow, or no snow? That is the question...

  • I totally understand!!!! Weather forecasts are always so "I can predict the weather better than any meteorologist can," in Michigan.  Just like the weekend of our wedding - it was 85, sunny & humid on Thursday, 60, windy and partly cloudy on Friday and 45, windy & overcast the day of our wedding.  BLAH!!!

They were calling for up to 3" last night which we didnt' get but a dusting.  Not sure what we're getting over the weekend.  We'll have a White Christmas regardless, but it all depends on the forecast as to whether or not the roads are clear...

  • I kinda hope it isn't A bc I'm supposed to go to my dad's on Saturday and though my new car has AWD I don't want to test it that soon!! I wouldn't mind some snow but not a blizzard please, Mother Nature!

  • Well, earlier this week they were calling for freezing rain, sleet and snow on Christmas Eve.  Now today they are saying just snow around here and possibly sleet south of us.  We are expected to get 1-3" by Saturday morning.  I'm all for a white Christmas, but not sure I want 3" on Christmas Eve.  H and I have already started talking about back-up plans for Friday if the weather is nasty.

  • If it's the storm that hit the CA earlier in the week, my guess is A.  I'd say hunker down and enjoy your first married Christmas alone with your hubby!

  • All I know is that I HATE snow.  HATE HATE HATE it.  That's all I had to say...

  • We still have snow on the ground from the last STL storm which gave us 5.5inches. We always seem to get more snow here than other places that are only 5mins away. My BIL says we live in the twilight zone.

  • Ummm I'm hoping for B or C but preparing for A!!!  We are headed home to NH on Friday and supposed to come back Monday but now they are possibly predicting this to turn into a Nor'easter and hi the north east on monday....sooooooo we wait and see....
