Hope you're all doing well, thought I'd drop in and say hi.
Recent developments: My husband spoke to me about wanting me to have a peaceful pregnancy and getting as much rest as I can. Thats pretty difficult to do as I work full time and am a full time nursing student. We've also been talking about getting a nanny when the baby is born in July, etc. We could NOT come to an agreement about having a nanny at all (he doesnt like the idea of a stranger being with the baby...)
So, he proposed that I be a stay at home wife right now, and then when the baby comes be a stay at home mom and focus on school. While that is a terrifying idea (I've worked since Im 16!) - I took him up on it. I gave my 2 week notice, just finished my finals in school (got all A's) and have almost a free month until the next semester starts.
Sounds like a fast move, but my husband who never asks or demands anything - asked for this, and how could I argue?
So, I've been getting tons of sleep and we're looking forward to Xmas and New Years!
Im going to cook a huge meal for just he and I and we are doing "Pajamas Christmas".
Do you all have final, solid plans for Xmas? What are you doing?
Re: Hi Ladies! Chitchat & a Holiday Question
Hey Alisha!
Sounds like a plan!! You do what's best for you and your family.
We have no Christmas plans per se. In fact, I am still researching dinner menu items. It's gonna be a quiet Christmas. We were invited to CT but I really don't want to go. DH might go later that Christmas night but I will stay home and snooze.
Merry Christmas to all!

That's really sweet of your husband to suggest you stay home and focus on your health and school. You'll get a little break before the new semester starts and I'm sure you'll feel a lot more relaxed and rested.
We don't celebrate Christmas as we're Jewish, besides Sasha's been sick, so we'll probably stay in and order some take-out. We go all out for New Years though, with presents and staying up late and whatnot, and I still have quite a bit of wrapping to do. Happy holidays!

I think you're DH is brilliant!! You deserve to rest and enjoy your pregnancy, and to focus on school.
I'm kind of in the same boat, ie - only focusing on grad school. (plus, it's full time so i can't really work) It's really weirding me out cuz i'm usually double or triple booked. I had *3* jobs one summer!! So i'm trying to relax and enjoy it...
DH and i are in my home-state of NM for Xmas, where it's been averaging about 70 degrees
. We'll be back for New Year's, but we don't have plans for that. Your holidays sound fantastic! Have fun!!
PS. I'd *love* to have a nanny when we have kids!! What about a FT babysitter? My Craft Blog

Finally! A Married Bio!!
Wow well that sounds like a good plan! I am a full time student and aside from working for the department, I don't have a "real job." Honestly I really appreciate the time to focus on my studies and be a good wife as a newlywed. I hope that the coming months go well for you and that you are healthy and successful in school. Have fun nesting!
For Christmas we are spending time with my cousins, which will be really nice!!
