cheesecake topping help

so I tried making a chocolate cheesecake the other night and it failed miserably.  I have never made one before and it looked like crap..all cracked and not sure if it will taste burnt because the drippings from the oven made it smoke up and such.

I made a new one last night and it came out great, or at least looks great.

So what should I put on top of the broken one?  It is a plain chocolate cheesecake...maybe a choc ganache?  Anyone have a recipe for a good one..or I could just make the peanut butter one that goes on the Peanut butter cake I make.

thoughts or other suggestions

Re: cheesecake topping help

  • I would pipe cool whip around the edges and then put cherry pie filling in the middle of it to cover the cracks.  a ganache will still show the cracks so it needs to be something thick
