I can freeze this right?

I want to make this dip so that if I need something for after dinner, or to bring boxing day to my friends house I have something already made, I figured I could make a couple batches of it and freeze them in dishes so that I just need to add the bread and bake them, that way I have a couple for future parties and what not as well.  It says it can be made a day ahead but it can also be put in the freezer too right?

 Asiago Cheese Dip

  •  2 cups shredded asiago cheese
  •  2 cups mayonnaise
  •  2-3 garlic cloves, chopped fine
  •  1 small jar of marinaed arichokes, chopped into small pieces.
  •  1 loaf of sour dough bread> > Hollow out the middle of the sour dough bread. Save pieces for> dipping. Set aside.

> Mix all ingredients well and put into hollowed out bread. Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes. (Dip can be made a day ahead and stored in tupperware until ready to bake in bread.)

Serve with bite size pieces of bread, crackers, fat pretzels (these> are great with this), natchos, pita bread (fried pita wedges are> awesome), etc.

Re: I can freeze this right?

  • I wouldn't.  Dairy can take on a weird texture when it's frozen.  It seems like such a simple recipe I'd just keep the ingredients on hand and mix if necessary.
