I feel terrible!

Just a quick update to the MIL situation. DH's mom came over last night to see the baby and I was really happy she finally got to hold her, but unfortunately DH's dad passed away last night. =( I feel terrible I was so insensitive to how his mom was feeling. I can't imagine what she is going through. I think I am just hormonal from giving birth and a little too sensitive. =/

Oh Bonnie, I'm so sorry your FIL has passed away. I can't even imagine what your MIL (and your DH too!) must be feeling right now, especially so close to holidays!! Please don't beat yourself up about how you were feeling about the whole situation! It is totally understandable for you to have felt the way that you did. And all you can do right now is really be there for your MIL and your DH. I'm sure Samantha will know about her grandfather through you and your family. Hang in there! Big {{hugs}} to all of you in such difficult time.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is going to be an extremely difficult time for everyone involved.

Don't beat yourself up though. Your feelings were valid/understandable, as was what your mother in law was/is going through.  We're all just human...

Bonnie, I'm sorry to hear about your FIL. Don't beat yourself up on how you were feeling.  We all have those moments where it's hard to see outside of your viewpoint.

Sorry to hear about FIL. You'll turn it around, because right now you'll be very supportive. I think Baby Samantha will be a great distraction for the family. Is she the only grandchild? Maybe put her picture near his casket at the wake, if it works out. The bittersweet truth is as one passes away, another is born.
