I'm a little late too, the club is open
SH!T! I was so busy yesterday it totally slipped my mind. BAD HEAD CHEF, BAD!
Soooo....if anyone's around today, post some food for gifts recipes. Do you make a great fudge and hand it out? Or, do you have any jar mixes you put together? What about breads or rolls? If you gift it, we want it!
Thanks Robin for posting your recipes. If I hadn't seen your post I may have completely forgotten about opening the club AT ALL!
So, short and sweet, get to it. I got stuff to do! Merry Ho Ho ladies! Love you all!
Re: I'm a little late too, the club is open
My maternal grandmother's White Fudge recipe is already on your site.
I look forward to receiving my paternal grandmother's fruit cake every year. I don't have the recipe, but it is just glorified banana bread -- with walnuts and maraschino cherries added.
I haven't made it for Christmas, but it would work for any holiday with seasonal-appropriate Peeps and coordinating M&Ms available -- S'Mores in a Jar -- I saw a version of these using just mini marshmallows, and that was really cute too.
this only loosely qualifies as a recipe but so far it has been a hit! and given with a bottle of something sparkly & a little bag of sugar cubes it's a great gift.
cinnamon bitters
6-8 cinnamon sticks
16oz vodka (i used stoli)
put cinnamon sticks in a mason jar and pour vodka over them. leave in a cool, dry place for 2-3 weeks, giving a few turns every few days. strain and pour into jars for gifts.
cheeky's holiday sparkler
1-2 teaspoons cinnamon bitters
1 sugar cube (or 1tsp sugar, vanilla sugar is especially tasty in this)
champagne, cava, or prosecco
put the sugar cube & 1 teaspoon cinnamon bitters in a champagne flute and top with champagne/cava/prosecco
add more cinnamon bitters to taste & serve
i made a christmas-y version of cowgirl cookies for my girl, chloe
Cowgirl Cookies
1 1/3 cup all purpose flour, spooned into measuring cup & leveled
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup cooking oats
3/4 cup m&ms
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup white sugar
1/3 ? 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Stir all the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
Start with a 1 quart smooth Ball jar.
Layer the ingredients in like this:
First: flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt
Second: oats
Third: m&ms
Fourth: chocolate chips
Fifth: brown sugar
Sixth: white sugar
Seventh: chopped pecans
Pack each level down really tightly. I mean it. Pack it in. Or else it won?t all fit. Also, I added the chopped pecans last, because if the ingredients were too much or not enough, then I could add more or less pecans to adjust. I?d rather sacrifice nuts than chocolate, you know. The ingredients should be flush to the top of the lid when you seal it up.
Add
1 slightly beaten egg
1/2 cup butter (melted slightly in the microwave)
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Use the back of a large spoon to work it all together. You may even need to use your hands to get everything incorporated.
Then roll the cookie dough into 1 1/2 inch balls, place on a parchment covered baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes in a preheated 350 degree oven. I got about 26-28 cookies out of these.

i used red & green m&m's and skipped the oats and nuts since i'm pretty sure miss chloe isn't a fan of those (and does anyone not like EXTRA m&m's?)
