Are you shocked?

I started charting this month with DH's approval.

Re: Are you shocked?

  • I'm shocked that you weren't charting to begin with!

Same here... but Bonnie, I have a question...why do you need his approval?

  • He had expressed that he DID NOT LIKE it as I had a friend do it before we even got married or I was on the nest or anything.  He now has rephrased it that he doesn't like using it as a form of birth control.

  • I've written several comments and deleted them all. There's just no nice way to say what I'm thinking ...

    Good luck in your charting.

  • Good luck!

    Hmm. Interesting.

I know each person is different and all, but IMHO I would never have my husband drive how I detect my bodies cycles. I am glad he rephrased it for you...but just something to consider...it's your body, not his. To each their own, though.

I wish you good luck though.

This is what I was thinking too. Plus, it is so much easier to see when you're ovulating and to schedule good timing. Although I'm sure in 9 or 10 cycles you've sex'd it up in all parts of your cycle. But I really think this will help you learn about your body a bit more, like if you maybe don't even ovulate.

Plus I would have told Travis to f-off if he told me not to chart. It's my body and I get the majority say of what happens to it. Good luck Bonnie!

  • i can understand, bonnie. it's a conversation i had with ryan... whether or not i should start charting when we were trying to get pregnant. we decided, together, that we just wanted to let nature takes its course for a while and not put that pressure on us/me. i think it's completely different to chart so you understand your own body/cycles, but it's different when you are using it as a tool to get pregnant. imo, then the H should have some input too.
  • I thought you had been charting this whole time!  It can help so much because you may find out your luteal phase isn't long enough or you are ovulating later than you thought or you aren't ovulating at all.  I hope it gives you some answers but DO NOT let it consume you!
