Leftovers Party?

I'm thinking about having a leftovers party:

Leftover ham

Leftover sides

Leftover Christmas tree...

We have so much leftover, and I know all of our friends do too.  I think we'll ask them tomorrow so we can all potluck and get rid of our extras.  Would you go to something like this?

Re: Leftovers Party?

  • I wouldn't be interested in a party like that.

I have guests at holiday dinners bring to go containers and they seem to like that.

  • Not really.  I don't want someone else's leftovers.  1) I know that I took proper care of my own to get them in the fridge before anything icky happens, but I don't trust that most people know that leftovers are a leading cause of food poisoning.  2) One of my favorite things about cooking a big holiday dinner is finally getting a chance to enjoy to food I worked so hard  making-- as leftovers.

  • not really my kind of party...if anything, I would do like a leftover cookoff...so you don't just bring your left overs but you turn it into something else creative (like ham into some kind of brunch casserole or mashed potatoes into latkes)

I love that idea!  I have almost an entire ham left, and I could make some quiches :)  Thank you!
