Hi girls ![]()
Long time no post, I haven't been on in a while! Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend.
I am coming to GR for a few days this week to visit a friend, and while we typically do the downtown bar thing, she is pregnant! So that is out.
Does anyone have any ideas of things to do, restuarant recs etc.? I haven't been back since I moved in May and feel out of the loop!
I know we definitely will do sushi- so any good recs there will be appreciated. I was thinking Tokyo Grill but also heard that Sushi Kuni is great. We were thinking the main stuff like a movie, shopping. But I thought you girls might have some other ideas! TIA ![]()
Re: Ideas please!
I'm going to be irritating and tell you to check with her first on the sushi. I feel like some doctors if not all don't recommend it for someone that is pregnant. I could be completely wrong but just in case, I would check.
How about checking out that Diana exhibit at the GRAM?
Isn't there a bodies exhibit going on right now too? I would LOVE to see it.
Mani/pedi trip would be fun.
Oh you're not being irritating, she definitely can't have sushi while pregnant. I should have specified that she is a vegetarian anyways so she always just gets veggie sushi which is completely safe. Thanks for the concern though.
Mani/Pedis would be great....another pregnancy thing that I'm not sure about though. Are they safe for pregnant women, if they are in their 2nd trimester? She will know, but I have no clue.
Where do you suggest to go?
I got them while I was pregnant, and my kid turned out great (so far)
I don't know of places in GR, sorry!
For a salon mani/pedi experience, I'd recommend Design 1 or Heidi Christine. For a cheap, quickie type place, I go to Paradise Salon or Happy Nails over in Cascade/28th Street area.
The Trans Siberian Orchestra is still in town and doing a couple of shows on Wednesday at Van Andel for something else to do. I'm not sure what day you guys are getting together.
Do you guys have any Christmas gift money to spend? You could do some boutique shopping either in Rockford (they have a couple of cute baby shops), or Eastown/Cherry Hill area, or East Paris.
I think there is concern later in the pregnancy before you are full term that the person doing the foot massage could trigger a pressure point and kick start labor. A lot of places won't do foot massages if you are not full-term or if you are, then they will focus on certain pressure points.
