nookColor and Android 2.2

Hi Ladies -

I usually post on the book club board but I thought you'd be more apt to be able to answer my question...

I JUST ordered the NookColor (should ship today) and despite all the research I did beforehand I am just now coming across articles talking about the Android 2.2 update that is supposedly coming in January. If my nookcolor doesn't come with it, will I be still be able to update to Android 2.2 when it's released? Or will it only be on the devices sold in January?

Hi! I have the same question, as I just got mine for Christmas, and I thought that I had researched the nook and kindle to death before finally putting the NC on my wish list...my suggestion would be to Google your question. There are a lot of forums and pc type sites that post this type of info, and sometimes I have found some good answers that way. That's what I'm going to do. If I find out anything, I'll be sure to post a link for you. Good luck!

I got my nook color a few weeks early and I believe the other day it popped up with a notice that it updated its software. So if that's the case, it may go ahead and update with the new android update when it's available. I know my android-based cell phone updates its OS as well. With the plans to expand the apps available for the nook color I wouldn't imagine they would not make the software updates available to existing customers.

I can only speak about my experience with the original nook, but I've gotten two software updates already, so I imagine that you'll always have access to the most updated version.  Congrats on the new toy - I LOVE my nook!
