New Years

What are you ladies doing for New Years?  What are your New Years resolutions?

I think since DH just had 2 weeks off he will be working New Years Eve which means I will most likely be spending it by myself since he works until after midnight.  :(... But that's ok, I just had 2 weeks with him off work.

My resolutions are to stay on top of our finances, save money better, and to be healthier.

Re: New Years

  • side note - you're back in AZ? :) Your tag line says you are!

I've never been big on resolutions. So I won't have any. I'm not a big believer in waiting for Monday to roll around to start a goal. I just do it. My goal since Thanksgiving was to lose 3 lbs before NY. Well I'm a pound away! <shake fist> I can do it! My next goal will be another 4 lbs by March. I want to be in shape. I fell off the wagon with the whole wedding planning. I'm also going back to school in two weeks for my masters. fun fun...

For NYE, we're going up to a friend's cabin with a bunch of people. It'll be a little cramped but so much fun! Can't wait to see the snow and kiss my husband for the first time at midnight. Eek!

  • I will be in Jamaica for New Year's this year!  But I'll be alone so I don't really plan on doing too much besides attend an AWESOME WEDDING!  :)

As for resolutions, The Boy and I are going to start eating better and working out more.  My Mom thinks I look great now and I was too thin before, but I gained 15 pounds over this past year.  I know a lot of it is because of my shoulder and being inactive but I don't want to continue down this path.  We're going to use the Kinect fitness game to work out and then eat better to reach this goal.  I don't really want to lose weight, just be healthier.

Yea, we are not back in AZ yet... Not sure why it say's that.  But, we will be back end of January early February I believe, I will keep you posted.  It will for sure be in Tucson, but I would make a drive up to see you :)

  • Me, Bri and Caroline are staying in for New Year's since it's not worth the effort of havinger her out past her bedtime.  After she goes to sleep, we'll have dinner.  We ordered filet and lobster tails from Omaha Steaks.  It's basically just like a regular Friday night for us.

I never make resolutions, but I do have 13 pounds of baby weight that I've yet to lose.  We're going to Jamaica in the Spring and if I have any shot at ever wearing a bikini again, I better get working, so maybe I'll make an exception this year.

  • We are staying in and having two new friends over.  As far as resolutions go, it is to save money for a house and get into shape.  I would like to have 10K saved by end of year, yikes!

  • Well, NYE is our 2 year wedding anniversary :)  We are going to a party at a friends but I'm not sure what we're doing before and after.  DH was originally taking off, now he says he's working :(

As far as resolutions, I'm never good with them but I NEED to lose weight, save money and FREAKING MOVE TO CHICAGO!!!

  • We're going to have a few friends over for NYE for a small get together.  We had them over last year and had a great time so we figured we'd do it again.

With regard to my resolutions, like Meghan, I'm going to get on top of our finances as well as a couple of smaller "goals"- a) try at least one new recipe a week; b) read 125 books; c) blog on a regular basis; are few of them.

  • Our friends have a "dress up nice" NYE party every year at their house.  This year they added ladies wear an old bridesmaid dress, men wear novelty ties.  They live over an hour away from us so we'll stay the night at their house.  Should be fun!

As far as resolutions, I am terrible at saving money.  We don't have much debt, but we don't save much either.  I am going to try harder at saving this year.

  • Colin and I never really celebrate new years... and almost every year we are sleeping before midnight Embarrassed This year we are going to try and ring in the new year since 2010 was such a huge year,  I hope 2011 is even better! Our plans so far is going out and doing dinner with my friends, they are coming back here and we are going to play games I suppose?

I have yet to think of a resolution... I better get on this one!

  • I am shooting a wedding on New Years this year. but luckily DH is my assistant so we'll be together.

I haven't given much thought to my resolutions yet, but I will definitely be making some.

  • This NYE we're going to this great Vietnamese restaurant for dinner with another couple, then we're heading to the casinos!

As for resolutions, I haven't thought about it too much yet, but of course losing weight is on the list.  I think I'm also going to add finding and enrolling in a Masters degree program.  I keep going back and forth on what I want to do, so in 2011 I need to do some research and just sign up already!

  • I have no idea what our plans are for NYE now (and if you saw a couple previous posts about NYE plans, then you know what that makes me happy!) Party!!! Last year we ended up just going to our neighbors house and hanging out until midnight, but that was partly because we were leaving for Cancun for the wedding less than a week after NYE and we had LOTS of packing to do, and I didn't want either of us getting overly tired & sick before the trip. Type A, much? Yeah.

This year I think we may end up at our neighbors again, and I'm fine with that. NYE is their wedding anniversary and I feel bad that they kinda get saddled with entertaining a bunch of people, but... they don't seem to mind, so I guess it's ok. I actually wouldn't mind being asleep before midnight Embarrassed but I stay up for DH's sake. He likes to ring in the New Year, even if that means we're asleep 10 minutes later. I can handle that once a year. lol.

eta: I forgot the resolutions part. I'm not big on resolutions. If I want to do something then I generally just do it. I'm hoping 2011 will bring big changes for us, and if I had to make a resolution it would be to reach a healthy weight where I'm happy with myself, regardless what size I wear.

  • We're going to a house party and will probably end up staying at my parents since it's super close. Plus they're in Vegas. On New Year's day we get together with a big group of friends and do a "cook off". Last year was lasagna and this year is chili. It's a lot of fun.

As for resolutions - I have a few pounds to drop and some debt I'd like to pay off. We would like to get the house on the market and buy something new in 2011 but that's more of a plan than a resolution I guess.

  • We aren't really NYE people. We will just stay home, have a few drinks, and cook a nice dinner together. We've become such old fuddy fiddles that we kiss at 9pm since it's midnight in New York and we live in Colorado. As for resolutions, I want to really work on not being so negative and be content where I am. I have a few small goals for the year like training to run a half marathon, joining a book club, and getting back to eating better.
  • We always go to the beach, it will be different this year with a baby but we still intend on going to the beach and staying in our friends' condo and just enjoying a nice dinner out and being together!

  • Not sure what we're doing yet.  My BFF is in town from WI and I think we'll be doing something with them just not sure what yet.

As for resolutions, I really never make any but I would like to lose a few of the pounds that I've gained recently.  Get a better hold of my finances would be nice to.

  • We are staying in this year.  I'm uncomfortable and probably won't even make it to midnight anyway, lol.  We'll cook a nice dinner and watch movies.
