Recommend your faves, please!

This never happens, but I am running low on almost all of my bathroom toiletries AT THE SAME TIME! crazy! I love trying new products out. I always try to switch around so I don't get bored of the same smell/product.

Please recommend your favorite:

-face lotion (something for oily skin)

-shampoo (something that makes hair really shiny?)

-conditioner (same as above)

-body wash

-face scrub/cleanser

Right now I have been using the Burts Bees natural skin care products for my face but not too happy with them (i.e. they did nothing). I also used Pantene Pro-V blonde highlights shampoo but want something better! Thanks ladies!

Re: Recommend your faves, please!

  • I use all Lancome lotions, creams, and rejuventation serums (for dry skin), and am extremely happy with them.

I love Nexxus Therapee shampoo and Humectress conditioner.  I switch up brands each month to avoid build-up, though, and have also had good luck with Paul Mitchell, Neutrogena, Tresemme, and (suprisingly) Herbal Essences' Drama Clean, Hello Hydration, Dangerously Straight, and Color Me Happy.

I geneally prefer bar soap (Neutrogena's classic glycerin bar or Dial's micro-bead bar), but really like Bath and Body Works shower gels if I'm not using one by Tresor.

I alternate between Neutrogena's Facial Scrub and St. Ive's Apricot Scrub for my face, but swear by Deep Sea Cosmetics body scrub for everything but the face.  It's a little pricey, but well worth it.

  • For shampoo/conditioner, I use Kevin Murphy and it's awesome! Your salon may sell it or find it online..it can get pricey.

Body wash- Nivea has new stuff out and the scents are great!

Face stuff:  my skin is oily, so I use Arbonne and it keeps my skin in check.

I use Oil of Olay for my moisturizers, etc..

  • face cleaner -- i like the aveeno foaming wash for sensitive skin (i think they also make a version specifically for oily skin, too)

but the one thing that has really helped me in the past 3 months has been the clean and clear deep cleaning astringent (pink fluid in clear bottle with purple top). its cheap, and i dont think its anything special (just syalic acid) so i dont know why, but it has totally helped my breakouts.

shampoo -- i usually use suave. its the cheapest and it seems to work fine for me. right now, though, im using something my hair stylist gave me as a gift -- its called OLIVE and it smells amazing. im not sure if you can buy it at the supermarket, but i bet you can get it at Sallys or something. I dont think its very fancy.

  • -face lotion (something for oily skin)  I have dry skin and use clinique, but I love their lotion.  I've heard good things about their lotion for oily skin.  Not much scent though which is why I love it.

-shampoo (something that makes hair really shiny?)  I've been using Root Awakening and I love these, but it is time for me to shake things up.  (I'm getting my hair cut today!  Yay!  No more scraggle)

-conditioner (same as above) - same

-body wash - I'm loving St. Ives Oatmeal and Shea Butter - I love the scent and it helps with my dry skin.

-face scrub/cleanser - I use extra mild face soap from clinique, but I can't say enough about St. Ives Apricot scrub - It just works so well!

  • Body wash! I love LoVe LOVE Bath and Body Works Velvet Tuberose! It smells amazing and you can smell it on your skin all day long. :)

  • I use the St. Ives Apricot scrub usually---but occasionally have some skin probs, so I use a knock off of ProActiv that has the same ingredients, is way cheaper, and can be found at Sam's Club! 2 entire kits for $30. (I know you are supposed to always use that type of acne wash, but my face is too sensitive.) My skin doesn't do well with a lot of lotions and stuff, so I use a lotion from the Cetaphil brand and I love it.

I love shampoo and like the So Sexy line from Victoria's Secret for daily use or something from the Rusk brand, but the all time greatest shampoo and conditioner I've ever used is Aveda Dry Remedy...it is stupid expensive, but I swear it makes my hair super soft, brings out my natural color, and it is just completely amazing. Plus it is super concentrated, so not much is needed. I use my cheaper ones all the time, but use the Aveda one when I have something special coming up! :) It is fantastic!!

I use Dove Nutrium for sensitive skin and love it!

  • Body Wash--- I go between Caress exfoliating (not sure the scent---it is a coral color)

Shampoo/Conditioner--- Redken's Extreme (love love love it....makes my hair so soft)

    Face Wash---Aveeno for sensitive skin

Body lotion--- Usually something from Aveeno

  • -face lotion (something for oily skin)- I llove Elizabeth Grady Hydrasurge. Unfortunately it's expensive so I haven't had it in a while

I just bought Suave proffessionals Rosemary Mint shampoo and conditioner. I've heard good things

    -body wash- Dove

-face scrub/cleanser- I second St. Ives apricot although it doesn't give you that fresh clean feeling.

  • Body Wash--- like Melissa, I prefer bar soap and usually just got with the Dial soap with aloe.  It makes me feel fresh and keeps my skin smooth

Shampoo/Conditioner--- Since this summer I have switched to using only sulfate free shampoo.  I'm currently using Morracan Oil (but at $38 each, I don't think it's worth the money).  I tried Burts Bees Pomengranate, but it made my hair super oily, so much that I threw it out.

    Face Wash---Clinique's acne bar soap

Face lotion:  Clinique's Moisturizing Gel (b/c I have the dry/oil combo skin)

Body lotion--- I use Target brand's equivalent to Vaseline's Aloe Lotion.  It's HUGE (lasts me several months) and only $2.99.

I love ANY B&BW shower gels!!!

  • imageA.a.A.:

Every couple of months I run out of everything. It makes me crazy...lol

-face lotion (something for oily skin) - I use Aveeno. I have crazy sensitive skin and this doesn't make me feel oily or greasy.

-shampoo (something that makes hair really shiny?)- I love Bumble and Bumble products. I have been trying to save money by buying other(ie cheaper) brands and just haven't come close to B&B.  I agree with Hannah though about the Burts Bees Pomegranate. I am using it now and its not doing much for my hair.

-conditioner (same as above)- See above.

-body wash- Aveeno again. I like that there isn't much of a scent but I feel clean when I am done using it.

-face scrub/cleanser- I use baby wipes. Cheap and I figure if they are safe enough for L's bum they are safe enough for my face. They worked wonders getting all the wedding make-up off.

  • -face lotion - I use Aveeno Positively Radiant with spf 15...have been for a few years and love it...it's lightweight and doesn't make me break out or anything

-shampoo - I've been using Pureology for a couple of years now and LOVE it...it makes my hair feel so soft and it smells good too.  I use the volumizing one.

    -conditioner (same as above)

face scrub/cleanser - Aveeno...I can never remember which one it is, but it's got exfoliating beads in it and it's for acne prone skin...I love it, and I often get compliments on my skin.

  • -face lotion (something for oily skin): I use Aveeno or Olay, both formulas for sensitive skin.

-shampoo (something that makes hair really shiny?) I alternate between Paul Mitchell's Shampoo One and Tea Tree.

-conditioner (same as above) I recently stopped using conditioner because, since I did the wife chop, I don't really need it anymore. I was using a Paul Mitchell one that smells like apples; think it was the Superskinny one.

-body wash: I like to mix it up! I like the newish Aveeno Positively Nourishing ones. So far I've tried the hydrating (fig and shea butter) and calming (lavender, chamomile and ylang-ylang). I also like Dove grapefruit and lemongrass (yellow package) and several from B&BW; Japanese Cherry Blossom and Midnight Pomegranate are favorites for winter.

-face scrub/cleanser: Don't use. I have super dry and sensitive skin, so less is more for me!

  • -face lotion
I use Aveeno Positively Radiant. It's the best thing I've used for my skin. Like Carrie said, it's pretty lightweight. It is costly so I recently bought the Equate version of it and it's been just as good so far.

    -shampoo/conditioner
Biolage. I love them. They've been the best shampoo/conditioner I've used. They say to switch up your shampoo/conditioner everytime so I do that, but I always go back to Biolage every other time. I also use their deep conditioner and it's amazing. Also, for shiny hair, I use Moroccan Oil after someone suggested it on here. I got my bottle at Sally Beauty Supply for $8 on sale (normally $10). It's a small bottle but you don't use very much (I use a dime sized amount and I have thick, long hair) so it'll last you a while. It's also so great to detangle your hair and make it really soft.

    -body wash
I always use Bath & Body Works shower gel. :)

    -face scrub/cleanser
Anything Aveeno. Like I said, I've noticed they've been the best for my skin. I'm using Olay right now which is good but I still prefer Aveeno.

  • I'm all over the place with face care sometimes, but this is what I currently use (for my dry to normal skin):

At night, I wash my face with Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser, and in the morning I wash with Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleanser (or the foaming cleanser)

Morning and night, I tone with Neutrogena Alcohol-Free Toner and then use Neutrogena Ageless Essentials Continuous Hydration Eye Cream (something I had to start using recently as the area around my eyes seem to be more dry and sensitive than they used to be).

At night, I moisturize with Neutrogena Ageless Essentials Continuous Hydration Night Cream, and in the morning I use Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 15.

For hair, I've been using Aussie shampoo and conditioner for quite a while now, and they haven't failed me yet.

I use Zest soap or Bath & Body Works shower gel for my body.

    "You're the L and the V, I'm the O and the E...Am I speaking clearly?"
  • -face lotion (something for oily skin) - I have always had issues with moisturizer, to the point that I just can't use them; I use a moisture tint make up instead - it is literally the one thing that doesn't cause my skin to freak out - Jane Iredale Dream Tint

-shampoo (something that makes hair really shiny?) - Bumble & Bumble Gentle shampoo is my absolute favorite, but it's expensive, so I haven't used it in a while; same with Kerastase (can't remember the kind I used, but it was in an orange bottle).  I've been using Redken Color Extend for the past month or so, and really like it so far...I'm sure their other products are great, too, if you don't have to cover up your greys :)

-conditioner (same as above) - same, but the Bumble & Bumble conditioner is Super Rich...oh my gosh...the best conditioner ever.  I swear!  Also, I love Lush American Cream (especially when used with Lush Cynthia Silvia Stout shampoo).

-body wash - Right now I'm using Nivea Touch of Sparkle, and really like the way it smells.

-face scrub/cleanser - Neutrogena Acne Stress Control - it seems to work better than anything else on my sensitive skin; I've tried a lot of the expensive ones and they just don't seem to agree with my face.

  • -face lotion (something for oily skin) - Biore dual effects moisturizer. It's not greasy at all and doesn't make me break out. It also has SPF 30.

-shampoo (something that makes hair really shiny?) - I use Aveda. Usually the damage remedy stuff, but it's all pretty good.

-conditioner (same as above) - same as above.

-body wash - I buy this cheap and switch it up - usually suave or oil of olay or the Target knock offs.

-face scrub/cleanser - I want to get a nice one, but for now I use Clean and Clear astringent as night and clean and Clear morning burst facial scrub in the shower in the morning.

  • -face lotion (something for oily skin)

I use L'oreal Futur-e.  Vitamin E, SPF 15, and  it doesn't make my skin feel greasy.  I love it and have been using it since I was about 15 years old when I stole it from my mom.

-shampoo (something that makes hair really shiny?)

    I like Biolage.

    -conditioner (same as above)

    Biolage again.

    -body wash

I use St. Ives Oatmeal and Shea butter, it really keeps my skin moist.  I love anything by St. Ives...it's cheap and effective.

    -face scrub/cleanser

St. Ives apricot scrub with blemish and blackhead control.

  • Aveda and Pureology are my all time favorite hair care lines.

I will never touch Burts Bee's hair products again.  I've never felt my hair in worse condition.

I've got normal to oily skin, but also very sensitive, and Aveno products do me well :)
