Root Canal?

The most extensive things I've ever had done to my teeth are braces and having my wisdom teeth out.

I had a filling 2 weeks ago and been in horrible pain since.  My dentist did a last minute root canal last night, once he got in there he could see I def had an issue.  So, he said what he did last night would help with the pain.  My pain is still the same as it was yesterday, do I call???

I don't want to be annoying patient lady.  I still have to do 2 more visits for it, I'll eventually get a crown on the tooth.

Stupid tooth!!!!  Curse you!!!!!

Re: Root Canal?

  • I had my 1st root canal last week. It hurt like hell! On the 7th day the pain just completely went away. One day it hurt the next it was fine. EVERYONE I talked to said a root canal was easy and no big deal & they had no pain & were eating w/ no issues! I couldn't even brush my tooth that is how bad it hurt. I gently used my finger to "brush" it & even then I cried. I still am super careful and haven't really eaten on that side yet.

My teeth must be super sensitive though. I had my 1st cavities filled in October (3 of them!) and my mouth hurt for more then a month afterwards. Really sucked b/c I was in Mexico and couldn't eat on that side of my mouth. I have another root canal to do here soon.

  • Is it sore from surgery or still sore from previous injury/tooth?

I might call the office and explain what's happening and ask if that's what the dr ment or not.  Your not a niny....that's why they get paid the big bucks...haha

  • I've had couple and they never hurt getting them done.  I did have one tooth that was still sensitive and they went back in to see if the could see an extra nerve or something and I think she did find one (this tooth normally has 2 but mine had 3 or something like that).  I think if the pain still feels the same as before I would call them.  If it just feels sore from the work, then I might wait a day or so.
