Cold/Sore Throat Remedies?

I called into work sick on Monday and still feel miserable. 

 But now it's an awful sore throat,  I've been drinking plenty of water, increasing vitamin C (clementines and OJ) and sucking on Halls Fruit Breezers.

I plan on gargling with warm salt water tonight...any other suggestions how to kick this bug?

Tea and honey always helped me. I would also sleep with a humidifier if you have one, that will help a ton.  And sleep, sleep and more sleep. There is a nasty bug going around here as well. I have a few friends that have come down with strep :-/

Tea with honey, echinacea, and robitussin cold (pill form, not liquid) are my go-to cold remedies. That and sleep. Lots of sleep.

Tylenol makes a great cold/sore throat liquid in daytime and nighttime....it works fantastic for me.  Hope you feel better

I swear by Alka Seltzer...I can't think of the specific kind, but it's lemon lime flavor.  Every time I take it, I feel 100% better within hours...and never start feeling bad again.

Also, I agree with everyone else - lots and lots of sleep/rest!!!

If it continues, I'd get checked for Strep Throat.. it's running around very rampantly..the can do a "quick strep" test @ Walgreen's Take Care Clinic or CVS's Minute Clinic.  Hope you feel better!

I would be careful about accepting the results of the quick Strep test. I always would test negative at the doctors only to get a call later saying that the second (longer/more accurate) culture tested postive.

I could never find a sore throat liquid or spray that ever worked until I found this stuff.  I swear by it.  And it really doesn't taste all that bad like other sore throat stuff.
