***Waltzingmatilda - Elizabeth***
How did your surgery go? And did you and DH had a nice Christmas just the 2 of you?
Sorry if I missed a post about this, I was not around here for quite a few days while family was in town, and I was thinking about you.
Re: ***Waltzingmatilda - Elizabeth***
Thanks for asking, I hadn't really thought to do a follow up post.
The surgery itself went well and I recovered pretty quickly. I still have a bunch of restrictions on what I can and can't do (like lift anything over 10 lbs, so now my 13 lb cat thinks I don't love him
) Unfortunately, I do don't think it worked. I've still be having the same problems as I had before. It sucks, but I have to wait until my follow up appointment in 2 weeks to talk to my doctor. Some times I think it helped some maybe he can make some adjustments and get it better.
And we ended up at MIL's house for Christmas Eve. We had bought tickets to go to Christmastown for MIL's birthday on the 11th, but it rained. The only other time we were all going to be down there was Christmas Eve, so we caved and went. It was a short trip and we left to come home Christmas Day. It wasn't too bad, but I wouldn't do it again just because I felt so guilt tripped into it. Christmastown was beautiful though. Do you get a chance to go?
I hope your Christmas was nice and thanks for thinking about me, it means a lot.
Aw, poor kitty, but he probably senses that you still love and and want to hold him, but just cant.
I am so sorry to hear that it seems like the surgery did not work, that is so hard. Maybe as time goes on you will see more of an effect from it? Hopefully you will get something useful out of your follow up appointment!
We did not go to Christmas town, it sounded like fun, but it was expensive as well. We definitely considered it, and my go next year. Sorry you were guilt tripped into doing Christmas Eve with your in laws. But you got Christmas day just the 2 of you, so that is nice.
Have a nice New Years Eve!
Yeah, I still cuddle with my kitty, and even got some sandpaper kisses from him this morning, so I think he's getting okay with it. Only 2 more weeks and I can pick him up again.
I read some things online that said sometimes a second surgery is needed to tighten up the sling, so maybe that's a possibility. It's just so confusing right now because DH and I really wanted to start TTC sometime in February and this might push that back.
You should definitely check out Christmastown next year. I know Papa John's had coupons to save $5 on tickets and I was able to buy them at my credit union for $6 off. My mom really wants to go next year, so I'll probably go with her. I want to earlier in the season though because they only have the rides running if it's above 40 degrees, so everything was closed on Christmas Eve.
Have a happy New Year's, too!
Sand paper kisses are the best! Only for so long though.
Hm, i guess that if it comes to needing a second surgery and that ends up fixing everything then it would be a good thing. But that would stink if it caused you to put off TTC. Although you definitely want to be healthy, so it would be worth it.
I did not realize that there were coupons, that would definitely be a consideration. We will have to look into it next year. And it would only be worth it if the rides were going, I agree with that!
