Charleston, South Carolina

DH is in a wedding here in April, so we are starting to plan our trip.  We can't stay long because it is during my school year and I don't have many personal days left, but I am hoping to stay an extra day or two and have some time to see the area.  Has anyone been?

ETA: The wedding is on Wadmalaw Island.  It looks like Charleston is about 20-30 minutes away from there.

Re: Charleston, South Carolina

  • DH and I went up to Charleston for my SILs graduation from residency. We had a blast! We went to Middleton Plantation for a tour and it was gorgeous! In addition to the house and grounds tours they have a gorgeous garden that you can explore on your own (I bet it would be really pretty in April). We had lunch there at the little outdoor market but I think I remember seeing a restaurant there too. For dinner we went to McCrady's, it's a bit nicer (and pricier) with excellent food! My SIL also recommended Poe's (as in Edgar Allen Poe) if you want to just grab a burger/fish tacos or a beer on the beach. She said that is located on Sullivan's Island. Have fun on your trip!

  • If you can't stay in Mt. Pleasant you should def make it over there.

    Have fun!

  • I looked it up and it looks like where the wedding is is a little North East of that, not to far.  What is there?
