Advice

We received a Wii for our wedding, and we NEVER play it. We would like to sell it, but I am not sure if Ebay or CL would be better.

Ebay: I sold an expensive item once before, and "buyer never received it" aka I had to refund $ and lost product. I think insurance would help, maybe!?

CL: no shipping obviously, but I'd have strangers in my home to make sure it works. Plus, many spam emails.

I am not sure what my best course of action would be. Ideas?

Re: Advice

  • I prefer CL but that's because I think generally you can get a bit more $$ for the item. eBay is fine and you wouldn't have had to refund if you had bought delivery confirmation/tracking with insurance to confirm to paypal that it had been received. So either way, really.
  • I would probably sell on ebay or amazon.  I don't like the idea of having people come to my house and try it out.  Ebay and amazon are a little more work since you have to pack and ship, but I like the anonymity factor.

  • Do you know anyone that would want it?  Maybe someone at work or a friend would want to buy it off you instead.
  • Is it new in the box?  (Sounds like it is already open?)

For Ebay, definitely do shipping confirmation or signature confirmation.  You can do it through the USPS or UPS.. and the shipper pays for all that.

CL, I feel like a lot of people try to nickel and dime me, plus I do get some strange people...  and then sometimes I'm wierded out by the person knowing where i live if for some reason they were mad about the transaction..

  • I know a certain nestie who is in the market for one (uhm me) so if you want to email me  (nycappuccino@aol.com)- we can discuss
