Hi Everyone!
My other half and I relocated to Dallas from Miami, Florida about 4 months ago.
We absolutely love it here- and plan on buying a house in the next year or two. Rich and I always try to go out so we can explore the city. Even though we have a blast together; right now it feels like the only thing we're missing are some quality friends.
Any suggestions where we can go and meet other young couples with similar interests/ambitions? Are any of you out there in the same boat? I never thought it would be this difficult to make friends! Yikes! Please help.
Thanks,
Veronica
Re: Friends?
If you attend church, see if they have some small groups you can join. Almost all of our couple friends are people we met when we decided to just dive in a join a small group bible study at our church.
If there are others your age at work, invite them over for dinner. My husband always hates it when I set him up on "play dates" with husbands he doesn't know, but we've actually made some good friends this way. Dinner, cards or a board game, is a great way to get to know each other.
I am a little late to respond, but I am glad this post came up. My DH and I were just talking about this subject this past weekend. We have lived here for a couple of years and thought maybe it was just us that felt that way.
I joined this site recently just for this reason.
