Just got back from the ER...
Long story short, DH is totally fine! But...
We were walking from the movie to find a place to eat and he was on the phone with a friend when he suddenly hangs up and tells me that he can't see out of the periphery of his left eye. And that he's seeing 'waves' like when you see heat waves off a hot sidewalk. He was moving his hands around in his periphery and his right eye was fine but his left eye couldn't see his hand at the same time as his right eye. He couldn't even see me standing next to him when he was looking straight ahead!!
So we took a detour to the ER at Beth Israel on 1st and 17th. We were seen pretty quickly but then had to wait for a neuro consult and then they wanted a CAT scan. We were both Googling on our phones while in the waiting room and pretty much self-diagnosed that it was an Ocular Migraine, and not a Stroke, cuz he felt totally fine otherwise!! And our diagnosis was pretty much solidified. They still want him to get an EEG and see an Opthalmologist *just in case*!
On the bright side, i really like Beth Israel and the staff there!! They were really thorough and very nice. On the downside, we were there for 4 hours. 
Blech.
But i'm so glad that DH is okay! I started tearing up in the waiting room thinking if things were to go bad. I'm not strong enough for this.

oy! so sorry this is how your year started. i had an ocular migraine as well...all the visions, none of the pain. it was suuuuper scary, so i can completely sympathize.
