Weight Watchers?

Is there any way to follow this without signing up and paying for it? I looked at it some online last night but got confused lol. Also, do you ladies know about any good healthy eating blogs? I am usually pretty good about exercise when I get into it but I am not so good about the eating. I think though if I knew how to cook more healthy food it would be easier. Chicken and salads get old lol.

Re: Weight Watchers?

  • Without joining online or going to a meeting and getting materials, it's hard to follow.  I plan to just do the online program for 3 months, and then once I'm familiar with the PointsPlus calculations, I can do it myself.  You can try a few meetings, until you are familiar with it enough to try to do it yourself?  I find it hard to have the discipline though if I'm not accountable to logging in my info, you know?

And yes, chicken and salads are boring!  I love lurking on the "What's Cooking" board here, and many of the posters there have great blogs!

  • Yeah, DH thinks it is a waste of money and thinks that eating healthy is common sense but if I don't start to see some results by Feb. I will probably join.

  • I'm going to check some of those blogs out too!! In the meantime I just joined back up on WW and the points system is different now. I'm allowed more but the point value of some foods have gone up.

When I first "un-joined" back in June (after we bought hte house) I tried tracking my points on an excel spreadsheet, but it wasn't easy.  Especially if there's something you don't know the point value of.  But if you have stronger will power than me, you can do it!  =)  Basically the best thing to do is snack on fruit since it's 0 points and make sure you have a lot of veggies iwth your meals since they're also 0 and can help fill you up.  Drink more water and fluids as well.  Try to cut out pop, excess cheese, and salt snacks.  I like baked Ruffles/Lays; they're only like, 3 points for maybe 10 chips.  Also the Hostess 100 calorie snacks help with the sugar craving and some are also only 3 points (they used to be 1 but went up since they changed the program).  Don't eat late at night if you don't have to, and it's all about portion control.  GL!

  • If I was going to follow the WW program with out actually going to the meetings or paying for it, I would go and buy the Calculator, or download the app and buy the 3 month tracker at your local ww. Everything you need is right in the lobby.
