After burning up 2 belts in 2 swipes of the carpet I've decided that I'm done with our ancient vaccum. And I need to get a new one now because our house needs vaccumed badly!
Do you have a vaccum that you love? As much as I'd like to be able to splurge on the Rainbow or Oreck vaccums that's just not in our price range right now. We'll probably have to put a max of $200 on it.
Any suggestions? Or even just brands to look at?
Re: Recommend Your Vaccum!
We need a new vaccum bad, too. We just have an el cheapo pos crap. I wish I had more advice for you.
I will tell you Rainbow's are awesome and very durable. My parents still have my Grandma's old one she gave them and it still works. I think it is older than me.
H's parents swear by Kirby's. I personally wanted a Dyson, but H says they are made out of plastic and will just crack and break. We'll see who wins the battle when we can afford to buy a new one.
We have a Hoover WindTunnel Rewind and so far I really love it. The best thing is that the cord retracts and stays inside the vaccuum... I LOVE that! It's nice to not mess with the cord at all.

If you have an Oreck store near you, stop in and look around. A lot of times, they have discontinued models or stuff they fixed and discounted.
It's worth it. They will service it for you, they rec 4 times a year. They change belts and bags and make sure it stays true to Oreck products. With a Dyson, you have to send it off.
If you are tired of replacing them, get something that will last.
It's almost here! Weeeeeeee!
