locations to have a company party in madison?

We are doing our holiday party in Feb. and I'm trying to give the people planning it ideas. It's adults only, would prefer to keep it on the east side and low cost. We want to be able to mingle but also have other things to do. One place that has been tossed around is Pooleys.

Re: locations to have a company party in madison?

  • We hosted a gathering for about 70 people last week at Pooley's, and I have heard good things.  They were really easy to work with, and the staff was pretty good (though they only assigned us one waitress).    We did order off their catering menu and had the buffet set up in the game room, and ready when everyone came.  We also ordered some appetizers to have on various tables around the room.  We did have our event on a Tuesday night, so that will make a lot of difference from a Friday or Saturday when they would be busier from regulars.  We basically had the place to ourselves.

We have also done bowling recently at Dream Lanes, and they let us use the private room, and set us up with bowling alleys right near the room.  They were also great to work with, but again this was for a weeknight.

    Good luck!
  • I've hosted multiple events at the Brass Ring and have been really happy with them.  Their "private" space is an open loft over the pool area with it's own pool table and dart board as well as seating.  Since it's open though you don't feel cut off and it's easy to move up and down to the bar and other pool tables.  The catering is great and they have a waitress who will run drinks up and down.
