I went to my regular OB/GYN today. I feel a lot better about her and about this process. I decided to cancel my appt tomorrow with the RE because DH and I felt it was worth it to try the plan with regular doctor first before taking more drastic measures.
So, here's the plan. We are getting DH health insurance (he needed it anyway). Once he has that (in the next week or so), he will schedule an appointment for a SA (semen analysis). This is standard protocol to make sure we aren't dealing with MFI (male factor infertility) as well. The results will be sent to my doctor.
After that is done, I will start provera to bring on AF just like I've been doing. I will be doing bloodwork on 3 different days during my cycle to monitor hormones/ovulation. I will then begin Clomid to make my body ovulate more or less. Bloodwork will tell me when I ovulate and from that we can do TI (timed intercourse).
My doctor is comfortable with Clomid for 6 cycles before referring me to the RE. So, there you have it ladies.
My husband gets to give a sample and I get poked with needles and any side effects from the Clomid (most likely will be vision changes, hot flashes and headaches). So, once I start that if I become a royal Biotch, you'll know why ![]()
I'm sorry in advance, LOL!

Re: Had my TTC appointment today
I'm glad you decided to reach out to your doctor and really make a plan.
Guys have always got it easier with their 'outdoor plumbing'
Good luck! Sending positive vibes your way!
Ash, I was thinking about you all day, I'm so happy you are sticking with your OB/GYN and she came up with a plan for you.

Hurray for having a plan!

wait wait -- I thought you didn't like your gyn bc she didn't want to order tests.
... I'm confused ...
either way, I'm so glad that your doctor isn't all crazy wanting you to get so much done -- having a dude jizz in a cup is so much easier. I don't know why a lot of doctors don't take that as the first step !
in other new -- how is James' store doing ?
This totally made me think of this, for some odd reason:

ha ! my favorite ! almost as good as " d i ck in a box "
Where reproduction is concerned, men have the fun part.
Lord have mercy, y'all crack me up!
AK- you are correct. Turns out my doctor did do some blood tests and I didn't know it. I thought it was some routine crap. I was very open and honest with her about everything. I told her fears/concerns/frustrations. She said we have every reason to optimistic and not to worry about IUI/IVF just yet.
James' is store is doing well for a soft open. Grand opening is on the 13th I believe and I am excited to see how it goes after that. If the soft opening is any indicator, I think things will be awesome

Good luck in the coming months, Ashley!
And, I really need to go by the store sometime. I'd pass by and go "Oh! Oh! Ashley's husband's store - I need to check it out!", but I was the holidays and I was just crazy busy.
Amelia is going to be a big sister!
Best of luck, hun! The rest of this post was hilarious...thanks for the entertainment...
I'm so glad the store is going well. Can't wait to find out how it goes after the gran opening!
Exactly this. I meant to respond last night- I am happy you're working with your GYN. Good luck!!!
I'm glad ya'll have a plan now! Good luck!!!
So I was whizzing through the replies and would have sworn this said, "Hurray for penises!" But in my defense, I didn't sleep more than 1.5 hrs last night ...
Yes, I should just go to bed now.
OK now that I read all the replies thoroughly .. I'm hoping all goes well for you. My mom has always said, "if you have all the parts, there's no reason not believe it can't happen" ... she said that because she was told by not one, but three doctors that she would never have children (She had five pregnancies, three children).
Keep the faith ... things will work out!
Can't really argue with that sentiment, though...
