Saint Pete hotels/ B&Bs

DH and I are looking to drive to Saint Pete either in MArch or July for vacation (the rates are way lower in July!)

Are there and places you would recommend? We saw a few hotels: The Pier, a few B&Bs, and the Ponce de Leon hotel. We want to stay around 100.00/night.

If you are looking to stay in downtown St. Pete I would stay at a B&B or at The Hilton Downtown Bayfront or The Hampton Inn and Suites St. Pete Downtown if you are looking to stay someplace for around $100/night.

I've never stayed there before but from what I remember from living in St. Pete the Ponce de Leon is a really old place that looks kind of shady.

Do you want to be near the beach or downtown St. Pete?  All of these hotels are in downtown St. Pete, which is probably about 15-20 mins from the beach.  I agree with the suggestions above if you want to be downtown.  We have our conference for work at the Hilton and its nice!

I can't attest to it personally, but many of my wedding guests stayed at the Pier Hotel and really liked it, but this was about 3.5 years ago. I heard nothing but good things from them - friendly staff, charming place, etc.

We also had others stay at the Hilton and they were very happy with that, too!
