Does your witholding # really correspond with how much taxes are withheld?
i.e. my withholding as single (on my w-4) is currently 2, from when my parents could claim me as a dependent, i think.
If i changed it to 1, (and kept it single status), would i get more/less taxes taken from my paycheck. I just want to make sure that i don't have too little taken from my checks...paying taxes is not fun.
Thanks!!

Re: *KellyA* - Tax question
Ahh, I'm so sorry, I haven't been on here for awhile because we were out of town.
The withholding number really should correspond with how much is withheld. The more exemptions you claim, the less that should be withheld.
If you change it to one and maintain single status, you will have more withheld than you currently do. It won't be TOO significant, but it should be enough to avoid any underpayment penalties.
