Can any of you recommend a good GI doctor?

This may be tmi, but long story short, I have had a long history of GI issues and it's very important that I find a good doctor.  I had one of the best in the Boston area, but need to find one in NY now that we've relocated. I'm considering switching to H's insurance since it will be a lot cheaper, but only want to do so if it has a good network of doctors.

I called my specialist to see if he had any recommendations in NYC and he did not have any.

Are there any you can recommend?

Thank you!

Re: Can any of you recommend a good GI doctor?

  • Mine is great, but it's right over into the long island border. He does endoscopy and most of those procedures in his office. That doesn't happen so much in NYC. It may be worth the drive. Dr. Storch in New Hyde Park.

  • Thank you for the recommendation.
  • Dr Hal Freiman, West 12th street, New York NY.

(Sorry, I feel weird about putting his office number here, but if you google his name it will come right up)

He came highly recommended to me a few years back when I was sick with GI issues. His office hours are a little sporadic, but he's a really good doctor.
