Hey do you know if Fort Myers would be south Florida or the west coast nesties?
I'm headed there in two weeks (I'm super stoked) for a girls holiday and wanted to check in and get recs.
Any ideas?
Re: Surfbetty
I was all about to shoot some recommendations your way...but right now...even a year and a half seems like a lifetime ago! In general...I'd suggest going to Sanibel and whatever the other one is connected to it (Jill may be able to better tell you). There was a restaurant right near the beach that my friend and I loved (and when I first discovered that you could get Yuengling in Florida). That island is also where I went kayaking and got crispied.
I've been to Fort Myers quite a few times, it's my fav place to vaca! Are you guys staying in Fort Myers Beach or the town? On the beach, there are 3 hot spots you have to hit! There is the blue whale restaurant that I love. I usually eat dinner and then move to the bar to hang out, and it's always fun. On the beach there is Top O Mast and Lana Kai (sp?) - my two fav bars. I love FMB because they have waitress' on the beach so I can plop down and never leave my seat. There's also a restaurant down by the pier that has an outside patio that is very nice.
The island that Jimmy Buffet did Cheeseburger in Paradise about is very close to their too. I don't know how you can get to it, besides private boat. But, if there's a way too, do it. The ride there is fun and the cheeseburger's are worth it.
And best thing about FMB, the dolphins! They like to put a show on on the beach. They will come up very close to the sand. One time, I walked out in the water and one swam so close to me, it brushed my leg. They are very entertaining.
AWESOME!!!
Thanks for the tips!
