Hello NC Nesties!
My husband and I are looking to relocate to the Raleigh area from Knoxville, TN, but have never even visited the area! Any and all suggestions for great neighborhoods for young couples would be greatly appreciated. We will probably rent a home for a little while until we can decided where we want to settle, but are open to townhomes and apartment homes. TIA!
Re: Relocating to Raleigh
Welcome to Raleigh! DH and I love it here (we just moved here last year).
Raleigh is an awesome city that sort of feels like a small town. If you're looking for the young couples' scene, try right downtown, like Glenwood South. Also the Brier Creek area is nice too (tons of apartments, condos/townhouses, shopping, all new developments) but it's nothing unique. Basically anywhere in the Raleigh "beltline" of highways is a nice area. If you look at a map of Raleigh, the "beltline" is anywhere in the circle of expressways that circle the city.
If you want to be in the suburbs, Cary and Wake Forest are nice too.
Hope that helps!
We moved to Raleigh 3 years ago from Jersey and just love it! Below is a post about some of our favorite areas in Raleigh. But if you have more questions that these responses don't cover, definitely let us know! I know it is a big decision.
