Re: random question...

  • Our dustpan is part of a set w/ a little hand-held broom. We keep it under the kitchen sink and it is used just for sweeping up stuff inside. It was purchased maybe two-three years ago at Ikea.

  • We own several (how can anyone not own a dustpan?)

I have one large plastic one, at least 10 years old, it pre dates my relationship with DH. I don't know where he got it. Likely at Big Lots because it was his favorite store. But maybe walmart.

I have two that are part of little whisk broom sets and are smallish dustpans. One from Target, maybe 5-7 years old. The other from IKEA and less than a year old (moved in a bigger house, got tired of moving it around).

I like the ikea one best because it has a rubber edge so it's easier to get everything into the pan.

We also have a big one for outside/garage use from Home Depot or Lowes, maybe 5 years old.

If I were to buy another one, I'd get a lobby broom - the dust pan with the handle and the little short broom so DD can sweep and I don't have to bend over to use the dustpan.

  • (out of lurking/ just got internet & ready to intro)

Got my dustpan from Target- Libman is made in the USA and I've been able to wash the broom and the dustpan is sturdy.  They have a couple different sizes and I like that it hooks to the broom so it stores off the floor.
