Re: Clicky poll re: Grey Hair

  • I currently dye my hair, but not to cover grey just for a change.  So when I get older if I don't feel like dyeing my hair then I'll just be grey.  I think grey hair is beautiful, my neighbor has long silver grey hair and she looks so gorgeous to me.

  • I haven't dyed my hair in years. One of the reasons for this is because the maintenance is so expensive. Instead I decided that I'll wait to color my hair again until I start see lots of greys.

  • OMG, I'm dying laughing about the last option (which is the one I chose). I am always, always threatening my dh that I'm going "all silver-fox" on him. He thinks I'm kidding. I'm not!!
  • I color my hair, I have grays and have for the past 6 years, just a few here and there.  I will continue to color it.
  • I had a hard time picking a response. I have found a couple grey hairs but over like 3 years time. Neither of my grandmothers had much grey hair, so we don't know if I will get that gene or not. My current hair color is a color everyone tells me they would pay good money to have, so I have never dyed it and plan to not have to.

  • I've found a few grey hairs in the past year or so and just plucked them out. Sad. I've never dyed my hair, but if I got a whole head-full of greys early-on and felt self-conscious about it, I'd probably go for it. I'd ideally like to be able to just roll with the punches of aging whenever they happen- such less maintenance!
  • My grey is present more and more but it's still at a point where my hair looks mainly brown but shiny (at least from a far) so I'm not coloring it (yet)  I may break down one of these days though.  I've done semi-perm color before (which gives you the color without the maintenance)
  • there's no choice for i have so much fvcking grey that i thank god daily for hair dye.

This is what I would love to do! I've seen some women with some gorgeous gray hair. Unfortunately, my hair is so freaking thin already that it probably won't look too good. Let's hope I have mom's genes - 64 years old and nary a gray hair in sight.

My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.

Yeah, redheads! I have really no more gray hair than I did as a kid (I've always had 1 or 2 since I was a child) so I don't expect this to be an issue for awhile. Those few I do have blend in so until I have a lot I don't think people would really notice. But once I do get very gray I don't know what I'll do since being redheaded has been such a part of my identity all my life. On the other hand, I can almost always can tell when someone dyes their hair red and it looks so fake to me. My mom has been dying her hair red for years and it drives me up the wall, it looks so fake. Right now it's a horrible shade because she can't afford to have it done well and yet people still say what nice red hair we both have. I know she loves it and it makes me want to punch them. If I do it, I would spend the money to get it as close to my original color as possible.
