I'm so excited I'm not the only one on the board student teaching right now!! What grade are you student teaching?

I have high school seniors for Government! They can be a handful, but they're good kids. How about you? And I'm so sorry, but I forget your real name! I'm Jen, btw.
It's nice to have someone to trade stories with!

I will do my snow day dance for you
It worked for me! I'm hoping for enough snow to get another one tomorrow, but I doubt that will happen. We'll see!
When did you start your student teaching? Have you started teaching at all yet? I just started last week so I'm only observing. I'm so ready to teach though. Sitting there observing is getting a little old.
I did most of my observation last quarter so I started full time teaching today. Just finished the day. Phew! It wasn't so bad, but I did get called mean because I wanted them to use the brains that God gave them. You've just gotta let that stuff roll off your back, although this girl gave me a look that could kill. :-/
When do you start? We work very closely with the English teachers in our school, so I'm learning a lot about teaching English too, interestingly enough.

I just started last week. I am in the classroom for 16 weeks...done on May 4. Is your student teaching for an entire year?
Congrats on your first day of teaching!! That's great! If getting called mean was the worst that happened, I'd say you had a pretty successful day.
Between the two grade levels I'll be teaching, we're reading 8 different things, most of which I had never read before. So right now, I'm balancing my time between looking up lesson plan ideas and reading the material. I'm almost done reading, but of course I put the least desirable reads off until the end!
